Many know Babu Owino for his fiery politics and bold speeches, but few have seen the calm side of his life – a cozy 2-room holiday house that shows a different version of the outspoken Embakasi East Member of Parliament.

Aside from politics, the youthful lawmaker is a family man who spends most of his time with his wife and kids in this house after politicking. Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, was brought up in a humble background and maintains that he still lives a simple lifestyle and isn’t drawn to lavish or flamboyant living.

The Art of Living show toured the home a few years ago, where the lawmaker revealed some of the key features and the meaning behind the colors in his holiday house.

When asked why the interior of his holiday house is white, Babu explained that the color gives him peace of mind and helps him relax away from the political spotlight.

“White generally means purity. So when I’m seated here, when I’m relaxing, gives me a peace of mind.” Owino said

Another color seen in the house is gray. The MP noted that it represents neutrality, explaining that when he’s relaxing in the house, he doesn’t take sides.

“Gray is a color between white and black… And generally gray shows neutrality… This is where I come and become neutral. When my mind relaxes, not taking sides, just want to be gray.” the young MP added.

Sometimes, he spends time with his wife, Frida Muthoni Ongili, and their children in the house. Babu says that although he may have bought the house, it truly belongs to his spouse, who runs and manages it.

“When I give her a house, she makes it a home,” Babu Owino.

Whether you like him or not, Babu Owino’s holiday house proves that even the vocal and famous need a perfect place to relax and recharge.
